See Vee Ess

They own me. It doesn't matter if it's C$S or Walg$een$, or R*teA%D... any of those will do. For me? It's C$S because they are right down the street.

One month... 4 weeks.... 28 days... and counting. We've been sick, all of us. One at a time falling under the axe of evil viruses that attack us everywhere. So far we've collectively had pink eye, green snot, bleeding noses, cracked chapped lips, fevers, muscle aches and bone pain, upset tummys both upper and, um, ahem, lower. We've had coughs, ear aches, sore throats, canker sores and unexplained rashes.

We've gone to C$S to purchase cough suppressents, decongestants, fever reducers, pain relievers, sore throat sprays, nasal sprays, throat sprays, the miracle goo called Vicks, chapstick and Aveeno... not to mention the copays for Zithromax, Amoxicillan, Albuterol and Pulmicort and oral liquid steroids.

Then there are the little things. The waiting for your prescription to be filled impulse buys. Like, oooh, that candle is on sale! Or, Wow, look at the price for peanut butter filled pretzels! And of course a bottle of water, a couple of juice boxes and a pack of mnm's each time. The well-I-might-as-well-get-that-card-now buy and the we-could-use-new-chapstick buy and the every famous do-we-have-enough-kleenex? purchase. If your wait is really long and you spend most of your turn in the sample massage chair, maybe you'll escape with just some shampoo you don't need and a pack of gum but when your goal is to pacify a toddler or hurry home to a sick child, or better yet just freakin' hurry home cuz your belly is about to eject it's contents... you can fill a cart pretty quickly. Shoelaces. Laundry detergent. A new shower liner. Some sale priced blusher. A cool pen. Some posterboard that surely one of the kids will be needing soon. Hand sanitizer. Post it Notes... or index cards. Dinty Moore in a can for that weird craving you occassionally get. And a little Cheeze Whiz to go with it. It's comfort food. And a lilac air freshener so you can get rid of the scent of upset tummy in your house.

C$S owns me. I, D, am an impulse shopper. Darn it. They have EVERYTHING at that store. The evil empire indeed. I'm sure I'll be there tomorrow... anyone need anything?
