There once was a girl who had been abandoned and betrayed by every person she loved. It started when she was a child and her dad left. The rest of her life was spent searching for someone to love her who wouldn't leave.
She got married and had 3 great kids with a man who was wonderful and promised to never leave. He was her family. The 5 of them together were an island of unity.
Still, she clung to the hope that she could remain connected to extended family members. She tried. She found a place in the heart of her uncle and aunt even tho' they lived far away.
One day she heard that her uncle was very sick with the same disease that had killed her mother. Her little family of 5 packed up all they owned and travelled 3000 miles away to live near to her precious uncle, aunt, and 3 cousins. They wanted to spend all the time they could with him and to come back into the safety net of security that extended families provide.
Her uncle died much sooner than expected.
And none of their dreams about family togetherness and security were evident.
There was hurt and fear and confusion. There was grief and loss and misery.
A few good things happend, but still it was nothing that they thought it would be.
Finally just barely over a year after the big move, they decided that it could only get better and that they needed to stop grieving and just settle into this place once and for all.
Then one day just after that, the girl was excited to be invited out for a 'girls only' with her beloved aunt. The aunt explained that she was going to move a state away to live near her youngest son and that her other son with his wife and 3 children would be going with her. Effectively, this meant that the little family of 5 would be left all alone and abandoned once again.
The girl went home and told her husband. They cried together. The girl cried and cried and cried. She ate ice cream and drank rum and contemplated taking one too many xanax in hopes it would make all the hurting go away. Instead she ate some more ice cream and spent some more time in her husbands arms which was a safe place where there was no hurting.
They talked about their options and decided to sleep on it and think about it the next day when their hearts weren't so raw.
They kissed and hugged their children and tucked them into bed. They thanked God that they had each other and then the girl blogged about it before they went to sleep.
the end.

And then she met a blog friend who has been through similar situations in life...and she lives in THE PRETTIEST CITY in the US...and the family of 5 packed up and moved to the sunny NC Coast and the blogfriend introduced her to so many great people and she has 6 kids so that is like a whole set of friends right there for the kids...

The great thing about this country is that we CAN move wherever we want whenever we want...well, as long as we have the $$$ I guess.
*smiles through her endless tears*... thanks Mary! Your so sweet to me! Guess I'll have to keep blogging no matter what!

God! I would love to take you out for margarits and chips and a hell of a bitchfest! I am so sorry. There has to be a reason for this - in a deep cosmic way! If you guys feel like moving to Dallas, Tx. we will be thrilled to hang out with you and have some family fun!!!!!! We'll be new, too so we can bemoan living there together.
And please keep blogging!
